Built-in cabinets · San Jose & the Bay Area

Storage that belongs to the architecture.

Atrics designs and builds custom built-in cabinets for Bay Area homes, from libraries and display walls to bars and media storage. Each piece is measured for the wall, planned around what it holds and fabricated in our San Jose shop.

Owner-led design · 25+ years of cabinetmaking experience

Glass-front display storage and closed cabinets in one built-in composition.

Cabinetry in context

A place for what you want to see. A place for everything else.

Open shelves and glass fronts put a collection on display, while lower cabinets keep everyday items close. Plan the proportions, lighting and appliance openings together so the whole wall feels considered.

What we plan with you

Made for the space. Detailed for the use.

01

Libraries and display

Shelves, glazed doors and closed storage arranged around books, objects and the proportions of the wall.

02

Bars and beverage storage

Cabinetry planned around selected appliances, glassware and serving surfaces, with access requirements confirmed in the drawing.

03

Media and everyday storage

Cabinets and shelves designed around equipment dimensions, cable routes and the storage you want out of sight.

Custom library cabinets

A library wall, drawn around the collection.

Atrics builds custom library cabinets and display shelving, combining shelves, glass fronts and closed storage to suit the wall and what you want to keep on it.

Start with the collection
Books, framed objects and larger pieces need different amounts of space. Bring a few representative dimensions. The layout should follow what you own, rather than leave you fitting everything into identical openings.
Display, and put away
Open shelving keeps books accessible. Glass fronts frame a collection. Closed cabinets give the less decorative things a home.
Part of the room
A library wall should make sense beside the room’s doors, windows and furniture. We build to the measured space and review finish options with you in the shop.

Planning your project

A few useful answers.

Can a built-in fit an alcove or an uneven wall?
We measure the actual space and resolve the cabinet dimensions and installation details before building. Photos of the opening, trim and adjacent walls are a useful starting point.
Can you include a beverage refrigerator or media equipment?
Yes, the cabinet plan can accommodate selected equipment. Provide model numbers and manufacturer clearance requirements so ventilation, access and openings can be coordinated.
Can you match the style of the rest of the room?
We review the room, existing finishes and your references when choosing fronts, materials and proportions. Any finish match should be reviewed using samples before approval.
How much do custom built-ins cost?
The size of the wall, cabinetry versus open shelving, front style, finish, lighting provisions and accessories all affect cost. We prepare a project-specific quote after reviewing the scope.
Can you work from my designer’s drawings?
Yes. Share the drawings and specifications. We review field dimensions and construction details with the project team before fabrication and coordinate delivery and installation.
Can a library combine open and closed storage?
Yes. We can discuss open shelves, glass-front cabinets and closed storage as part of the design. Bring an idea of what you want to display and what you want to put away.
Can we discuss lighting for library shelves?
Yes. Lit shelves are part of the library design conversation. Tell us which areas you want to illuminate so the details can be addressed in the project scope.
What helps you design library shelving?
Photographs and measurements of the wall, along with the sizes of the books and objects you want to store. We take our own site measurements before building.
